On 9th August, blind and disabled activist Mike Higgins was arrested in Parliament Square for carrying a banner reading ‘I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action’.

In this powerful interview, Mike recounts his arrest under Section 13 of the Terrorism Act, the political motives behind it and why he refuses to be silenced.

A lifelong socialist and campaigner, Mike explains what motivated him to take part, including the memory of his late partner Linda Laurie, a committed Palestine solidarity activist.

He also shares his perspective on government repression, police behaviour on the day and the groundswell of public support he witnessed.
