Health Workers Against Censorship held a peaceful protest outside the UK Parliament on 15th October, opposing Health Secretary Wes Streeting’s attempts to interfere with the independence of the General Medical Council.

The move followed lobbying from Zionist organisations that have been targeting, doxxing, and threatening health professionals who speak out for Palestine and against Israel’s genocide and occupation. During the protest, Zionist agitators appeared and later left the scene.

Soon after, around 15 police officers arrived and seized one of the organisers, Dr Tamara Ali.

Following public outcry and a protest against her arrest, police admitted they had detained the wrong person and released her.

Footage from the day showed a police officer’s notepad and phone naming another doctor, Dr Rahmeh Aladwan, as the intended target.

On the morning of 21st October, Dr Aladwan was arrested at her home — just two days before her second hearing with her professional body. This disturbing sequence of events raises serious concerns about political pressure, policing, and freedom of expression for UK health workers speaking out for Palestine.
